The
Center for Biblical Equipping and Training @ TBC exists to glorify God by providing high quality equipping and training to support and enhance the ability of believers to carry out the Great Commission both in Bell County and around the world.
CBET courses are intended to help believers deepen and broaden their intellectual foundation, improve their ministry skills, and grow in their vision and understanding of how it looks to live out their lives as fully committed followers of Christ.
CBET courses are in-depth and challenging, but within reach of anyone willing to commit themselves. As an equipping center, there is a strong emphasis on preparation for and engagement in active ministry. Only selected courses are offered each semester and are divided into three categories. The categories are:
Foundational Courses - These courses provide an important overview of topics that form a firm foundation on which to build. Included in this group are: How to Study the Bible (Hermeneutics), Survey of the Old Testament, Survey of the New Testament, and a two part overview of systematic theology. We encourage all potential leaders who have not had equivalent courses in the past to take these courses.
General Courses - These courses are intended to cover a broad range of topics that supplement and build on the Foundational Courses. They will include topics like: Preaching (Homiletics), Church History, Introduction to Greek, Personal Discipling & Mentoring, etc.
Missions Courses - These courses are intended to help believers develop and grow as "World Christians", that is as Christians with global perspective and appreciation for God's heart for the nations. Courses in this group include: Encountering the World of Islam, Perspectives on the World Christian Movement, and Preparing for a Short Term Mission Trip.
